2012 Nissan Cube Chicago Dealer

Cubism traditionally refers to an early 20th-century style of art, popularized by Picasso, in which artists abandoned traditional perspectives in favor of the interplay among geometric shapes, interlocking planes and collage motifs. The Nissan Cube, one of the latest additions to the growing segment of compact, blocky hatchback wagons, is dressed up with an eclectic blend of curved styling cues, an asymmetrical rear window and ovoid front-side windows. Picasso would’ve dug it.

Whether the 2012 Cube is at the vanguard of this automotive cubist movement, or is just riding its coattails remains to be seen. Offered in four trim levels with a manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission (CVT), the four-door Nissan Cube offers a smooth four-cylinder engine and an airy cabin with ample headroom and legroom. Its real-world cargo-carrying ability is disappointing, though, much less impressive than the diminutive Honda Fit’s. This deficiency plus the 2012 Cube’s overly soft handling relegates it to midpack status among compact wagons.

Nissan Cube

The 2012 Nissan Cube is a compact four-door hatchback wagon offered in base, S, SL and chrome-bedecked Krom Edition trim levels. Motivation comes from a 1.8-liter four-cylinder that produces 122 horsepower, joined to either a six-speed manual transmission or a CVT. Base-level Cubes come standard with head curtain airbags, air-conditioning, power accessories, a 60/40-split sliding rear seat and a CD player. Higher trims offer frills like alloy wheels, keyless ignition/entry, cruise control, upgraded audio (with iPod/MP3 capability), a rearview camera and automatic climate control. Customizing Cubers can tempt themselves with a mind-numbing multitude of factory- and dealer-installed accessories that include body kits and interior styling mods.

Along with its attention-grabbing exterior design and park-anywhere footprint, the 2012 Nissan Cube boasts a tall, spacious cabin. Headroom and legroom are plentiful for all occupants, and the rear seat slides fore and aft. If you need to carry people and cargo, though, the Cube won’t hold as much out back as some rivals, particularly with the rear seat in its rearmost position, which is required for adult-sized legroom. Subpar dashboard plastics also cheapen the experience.

Enjoying the sprightly 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine and the smooth, responsive CVT. Other than a gentle ride, those are pretty much the only driving highlights, though; the Cube’s high center of gravity and soggy suspension simply can’t keep up with an eager right foot, and its steering is numb and slow-witted. If you tend toward the slow and steady, you may not find much to complain about. Other competitors, however, inspire far more confidence when changing directions. Overall, even for fans of these compact bricks-on-wheels, the basic Nissan Cube is an unremarkable effort.

2012 Nissan Sentra Chicago

The 2012 Nissan Sentra is a great value, and with six trim models and three engine options, you’re sure to find just what you’re looking for. Most new Sentras are equipped with a 2.0L DOHC 4-cylinder that is capable of putting out 140hp and 147 foot pounds of torque. A 2.5L DOHC 4-cylinder with177 horsepower is standard in the Sentra SE-R, and a 200 hp 2.5L DOHC 4-cylinder engine comes in the SE-R Spec V. Continuously variable valve timing control system on the intake valves is standard in all trim models, along with Nissan direct ignition system and electronic drive-by-wire throttle. All trim models of the 2012 Nissan Sentra are front-wheel drive, and a 6-speed manual transmission is available in the 2.0 model. A 6-speed close-ratio manual transmission with dual-mass flywheel come in the SE-R Spec V. All other trim models feature Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) systems, and the SE-R’s features steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. A 4-wheel anti-lock braking system is standard on all models, with electronic brake force distribution. Most models have 11.02″ Vented front disc/rear drum brakes. On the SE-R Spec V, the front stabilizer bar is 25.0 mm, and on all other trim models the front stabilizer bar is 23.0 mm. Ripple-control shock absorbers come standard all around, as does vehicle-speed-sensitive electric steering. The SE-R boasts sport-tuned springs, and the 2012 SE-R Spec V has sport-tuned suspension with lowered height, sport-tuned shocks and struts, a reinforced upper cowl and a trunk-mounted V-brace. Fuel economy, an issue with any vehicle, is superior in the 2012 Nissan Sentra, regardless of trim model. The 2.0, 2.0 S, 2.0 SR and 2.0 SL with Xtronic CVT get an estimated 27city/34 hwy mpg. The 2.0 with a manual transmission is estimated at 24/31, the SE-R with Xtronic CVT is estimated at 24/30 and the SE-R Spec V with manual transmission is estimated at 21/28.

2012 Nissan Titan King Cab Dealer Chicago

The 2012 Nissan Titan King Cab shows up in three trim models this year, the S, the SV and the PRO-4X. All models feature the 5.6L V8 putting out 317 horsepower and 385 foot-pounds of torque, and all trim models have available optional Flex Fuel Vehicle Technology in North Central, South Central, Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. All models feature a Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System on the intake valves, as well as the Nissan Direct Ignition System. 2012 Nissan Armada Chicago

I think I became the neighborhood’s best mom the other day when I purchased a 2012 Nissan Armada from our Chicago Nissan dealership. The sales staff were great, answering all of my questions, which was no small feat, let me tell you. I’m one of those moms that asks a billion questions of everybody and I’m pretty sure the PTA hates me.

Anyhow, I was in the market for a new vehicle, so I went to my Chicago Nissan dealer to check out what they had on hand. I found a really nice 2012 Armada, and with the third row seating and overhead console with multiple storage bins, it was the perfect pick for a lady with three children.

 

So, like I said, I bought the 2012 Armada, and just in the nick of time. You see, our community has an annual harvest festival that all the children in the neighborhood absolutely love. When my kids saw how roomy the new Nissan was, they promptly invited a friend apiece to ride with us. Needless to say, their parents were ecstatic to have a free evening and I was pleased to be able to seat everybody in the spacious 2012 Armada.

We all loaded up around 5:30pm, after a not-so-nutritious pizza dinner delivered from the local Papa John’s — hey, it’s tough enough to cook for three, much less six children. Anyhow, the kids enjoyed all the space they had, despite what seemed to me a near constant bickering amongst themselves. You know, “He’s looking at me,” and the like. I can remember doing that with my sister when I was younger, but for the life of me I cannot figure out why. It seems to be one of those things that kids just do.

Anyhow, we got to the harvest festival and the children all piled out and made a beeline for the front door. Upon gaining entry, they scattered, meaning I had an interesting night of wandering around making sure they were all in fairly close proximity.  Three hours of that and I was ready to go, even if they weren’t, so I began rounding them up. Out we all trooped to the parking lot, the kids each bearing loaded bags of candy. One of them had even won the cakewalk, and she was carrying a pound cake that looked bigger than her.

When we got back to the 2012 Nissan Armada, I thanked my lucky stars for having remote keyless entry and a very handy cargo area lamp. Those two features made what could have taken an hour only take minutes. Safely inside, we all strapped in and got settled for the child drop-off route, as I took the children that weren’t mine back to their respective houses. Then, my kids and I cruised back to our house.

2012 Nissan Leaf Chicago

I hopped in my 2012 Nissan LEAF the other evening and took a much-needed trip over to the Chicago Botanical Garden. it’s a treat I give to myself every once and a while, and the stress relief is awesome while plowing my way through the “Farm Dinner” event.

I’m a marketing manager for the Old Orchard Shopping Center, and I also volunteer for WRD Environmental. In other words, I’m pretty busy. I barely have time to charge my 2012 LEAF, as a matter of fact. That’s something I don’t ever want to forger, however, because the 2012 Nissan LEAF runs solely off the electric motor. There’s not even a tailpipe on it, so it definitely works with my eco-friendly lifestyle.

 

Anyway, as I approached the Botanical Garden on Skokie Highway, I got a glimpse of the tables lined up outside and caught the aroma of garden-fresh cooking. The tables, set in the Regenstein Fruit & Vegetable Garden, were beautifully arrayed and included fresh cut flowers as decoration. The meal was delicious, and I learned a lot about the midwestern farm and locally grown food connection.

 

The stress of being a single woman with two jobs is only mildly assuaged by the 2012 LEAF. But still, shouldn’t you be able to enjoy your life some instead of having to squeeze in moments of pleasure late at night? Maybe I’m looking at things the wrong way. I mean, it could be worse. I could have married that jerk I used to date.

He worked right next door to the Chicago Nissan dealership where I bought my new LEAF. I met him at the dealership, actually. He was handsome and charming, but I found out after more months than I care to admit that he had lied about a lot of things. Turns out he wasn’t a vegan, like he originally told me. The fact that he wasn’t one paled in comparison to the fact that he’d been lying to me for months. I can’t stand a liar, and apparently that was the least of the differences in the truth and the lie that was my life with him. He also was married and never said a word. He’d even proposed to me!

 

Yes, I think it might be time for a change of scenery for me. I will probably contact my Chicago Nissan dealer tomorrow and ask them what my options are for transporting my 2012 Nissan LEAF. The Sales Professionals and Service Department employees are really great over there. They always answer all my questions without making me feel like the dumb blonde I undoubtedly am.

2012 Nissan Maxima Dealer Chicago

While driving home yesterday in my 2012 Nissan Maxima, I was thinking about the quickest, easiest dinner to fix for myself and my family. When I got home, however, I realized I had another problem entirely. I had gotten my first scheduled service visit from my Chicago Nissan dealer, and I thought I had finished everything on the agenda for the day.

Our back porch is screened, and upon walking outside to play with the dogs, I realized there was a very small intruder. Flying back and forth between the two ceiling fans on the porch was a hummingbird. Now, I have always enjoyed watching hummingbirds, as a lot of people do, but I was concerned about this one. He was in terrible distress, looking confused and basically flying around in circles. I vowed to check on him periodically, to see if he got himself out of the porch’s confines.

I threw some pasta and sauce together along with a salad for dinner, and afterward went back outside to check on my ward. He was still up there, so I got on my computer and did some research on how to get him out without harming him.

A quick internet search of the problem told me I wasn’t the only person who’d ever had this problem; as a matter of fact there were quite a few entries on the subject. So, I read through them all and tried to decide which method of getting him out was the best.

One suggestion was to gently usher the bird out with a towel or broom. So, I went outside and tried it. Because the ceiling is so high on the porch, however, I found it impossible to corral the quick little nectar-lover. Back to my bird removal research I went.

The next option sounded interesting, but I was doubtful. In it, a lady came home to find a hummingbird in a similar circumstance to the one on my porch. She had just gotten a bouquet of roses from her husband and she took them outside to attempt to lure the birds out. Amazingly, the little aviator came directly down to the roses and began to feed. The woman was able to gently take the hummingbird outside of the porch via the flowers.

I decided it was worth a shot, even though it sounded a little far-fetched. I drove my 2012 Maxima to the grocery store and picked up a bouquet containing roses and lilies. I reasoned that the lilies might work better than the roses, what with having a more hummingbird-friendly shape.

Parking the new Nissan in my drive, I went straight out to the porch to attempt to lure the bird out. At first, he just came down and looked at the flowers, while keeping a sharp eye on me. I decided to sit outside with the bouquet for a while, to try to acclimate him to my presence as well as the smell of the nectar he needed.

After about 10 minutes, I tried again, and I was amazed. The cute little bird with the helicopter wings came right down, lit on a lily and allowed me to gently lead him outside. Once he realized he was out, he took off, apparently happy to no longer be confined.

The next time I went to the Chicago new car dealership to get my 2012 Maxima serviced, I told them about the incident. Everyone was pleased that the bird lived, and they were happy the new Nissan Maxima was able to assist me in the process.
